Get ready for another exciting APHA Film Festival! The sessions this year will focus on important health issues, including Black maternal health and veteran health, as well as on how films can educate and entertain viewers and move them to action. Don't miss the kickoff on Sunday (2pm-4pm), “Centering Black Voices in Addressing Root Causes of Black Maternal Health Inequities.”
Monday, the session entitled, “The power of filmmaking to move public health, how to get started, how you can be a changemaker” (2:30pm-4pm), will focus on how filmmakers see film as a medium to engage people in important public health topics, and on getting started in making films for public health.
On Tuesday, the film festival will conclude with the session, “Fighting for Love and Intimacy: Understanding and Addressing Sexual Health Issues Experienced by Veterans” (2:30 pm-4pm), which focuses on the challenges of managing love and relationships after the traumas of war.
This year, you will have the opportunity to listen and learn from those most affected by maternal and child health inequities, veterans, and those who produce health messages to create awareness and educate. Please set aside time for these exciting sessions during the 2023 APHA Film Festival!
